How to Create a Conversation in Pulzen
Creating a conversation in Pulzen allows you to generate insights and visualizations based on your data. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Navigate to the Conversations Section
On the left sidebar, click Conversations under the Studio section. This will open the Conversations dashboard where you can manage and create new conversations.
Step 2: Select an Instance and AI Agent
In the top-right corner, select an Instance (e.g., clever-space-dev). Choose an AI Agent (e.g., GPT-Vera) to assist with generating insights.
Step 3: Start a New Conversation
Click the input box to enter a prompt. You can type a request like:
- "Create a chart with the top 10 contributors based on commits."
- "Get my top 10 best committers users."
Alternatively, use predefined prompts by selecting available options in the interface.
Step 4: Execute the Query
Press Enter or Submit to generate the results. The AI will process your request and display the insights accordingly.
Step 5: Review and Modify the Results
Once the AI generates the response, you can:
- Edit the labels to customize the output
- Modify the visual representation to align with your preferences
Step 6: Add to Dashboard (Optional)
If you want to save the generated insight, click "Add to Dashboard." If you don't have a dashboard yet, create one and return to add the conversation again.

Creating a dashboard in Pulzen is simple and helps you visualize key insights. Start by clicking "Add Dashboard" in the Dashboard section and give it a name. Then, go to Conversations, generate insights using prompts, and select "Add to Dashboard" to include them.

How to Create a Dashboard in Pulzen
Creating a dashboard in Pulzen is simple and allows you to organize and visualize key insights from your conversations. In this short tutorial, I'll show you how to create your first dashboard.
Step 1: Click "Add Dashboard"
Navigate to the Dashboard section from the left menu and click the "Add Dashboard" button in the top-right corner.
Step 2: Name Your Dashboard
Enter a name for your new dashboard and save it.
Step 3: Add Charts from Conversations
Go to the Conversations section, generate insights using prompts, and select "Add to Dashboard" to include them in your newly created dashboard.
Step 4: Customize Your Dashboard
Once your charts are added, you can:
- Adjust their labels to customize the output
- Resize them for better visibility
- Organize them for better readability

How to Create Your First Report
To create your first report in Pulzen, start by ensuring an extractor is active with data loaded, then head to the Report section where you can enter a natural language prompt (e.g., "Generate a report for my team @pulzen based on commit and pull request activities") and preview the output. After reviewing, save the report to automatically set it as a recurring task, which you can later manage or delete from the History tab by clicking the trash icon.

Before starting, make sure:

Step 1: Navigate to the Report Section

e.g. "Daily Engineering Sync", "Weekly QA Overview" -

Example: Generate a report for my team @pulzen based on commit and pull request activities -
π Click Preview to review the generated content
Step 2: Save & Automate Your Report

This automatically creates a Recurring Task in your workspace -
ποΈ To delete the task later:
Go to the History tab β Locate the report β Click the Trash Can icon next to it

In this short i will show how to create your Pulzen Extractor

Requirements
- Access to a Cloud Provider
- Permission to Create Container Apps using Managed Services
- Access to create database Postgres or Mongo DB
In this short we will see how to create a Pulzen Extractor from scratch.
Step 1: Name Your Extractor
Enter a name for your extractor in the Extractor Name field. Alternatively, click Generate to create a randomly assigned name. Click Next to proceed.
Step 2: Choose Installation
Select the installation method for your extractor. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure it.
Step 3: Choose Manage Service
Define how the extractor will be managed. Select the appropriate management options.
Step 4: Choose VCS (Version Control System)
Connect your gateway to a version control system. Choose the VCS provider you want to use.
Step 5: Choose DataStore
Select a data storage option for your gateway. Configure settings based on your data needs.
Step 6: Pulzen Extractor Installation
Initiate the installation process for the Pulzen Gateway.
Step 7: Deploy Pulzen Extractor
Deploy the extractor to your infrastructure. Ensure all configurations are correctly applied.
Step 8: Get My Environment Variables & Secrets
Retrieve essential environment variables and secrets. Secure them properly for future use.
Step 9: Test & Start Pulzen Extractor
Run tests to verify the extractor's functionality. Once confirmed, start the extractor for use.
